Project Selection - My Decision

I have chosen to do the magazine project. I decided to go with this because I feel as if my researching skills and photography skills are better than film production. My skills I possess are that I have good communicative and written skills. I am more eager to start researching, interviewing, and verifying information. To add on, I believe the process of writing, editing, and also proofreading my article will be easier because of my AICE Lang class, since we have been focusing on that. I believe I am very thorough and pay attention to specific details, which is going to be needed while editing and creating the magazine. For this project I will be working alone, because I want to be able to make this a priority and not have to depend and worry on others to contribute for the group. For the magazine, I want to stay in the food genre and create a healthy eating magazine. I will be writing about ways to eat healthy, cutting out certain foods, how it will benefit your overall health, and mo...

Project Selection - Film

Some aspects of film production that interests me is the process of making and recording scenes. I am more familiar with film production. When I was younger, in school, we would constantly be recording advertisements, school projects, etc. I have some experience with writing the script, finding actors, a location/setting, filming, and editing. From watching the Newsroom, I find the film to be very contrasting. In certain parts, it is fast paced and action packed, while in other scenes, there's little to no action. They used different types of camera: shots, angles, movement, editing, sounds, and mise-en-scene. Some challenges I might face is having incorporate all these camera techniques to create a smooth film. Additionally, I sometimes have trouble knowing what scenes are important and which are unnecessary; which should be taken out.

Project Selection - Magazine

Some aspects of print journalism that interest me, is the process of taking pictures. My experience comes from taking a photography class when I was younger. Some skills I possess, is being able to find credible and reliable research to put into the magazine. The classroom experience I have, helps me learn some of the aspects required for the magazine. An example of this would be, writing and producing stories, interviewing, editing texts and pictures. I learned the fundamentals of writing and gathering of information through assignments given such as profiling characters. Additionally, I have organization and designing skills, that will help me display text and visual information effectively. My creative skills will help me put together an appealing magazine Some challenges I might face while doing this project will be writing "professional" text. It can be hard to structure the magazine correctly, as I can go off topic very easily and not write accurately.
