Creative Critical Reflection #3

My production skills developed from the beginning because I learned how to center a picture, if it was not taken properly. Since my magazine did not involve any models, I learned that proper lighting and background would be essential when taking a photo. For example, my cover page had varying light, which caused a small hassle to put on white text onto a dark and light background. As for my "photoshoot" of Mrs. Singleton, I had to schedule a time after school when she would. be available and due to softball, it was a bit difficult, but she gave 10 minutes of her time to do the photoshoot and so I can interview her. While taking her photo, I made sure the area was bright and it was located in her kitchen, where occupation as a teacher is; which is an Culinary Arts teacher at Sarasota High. I evolved the most when I took the picture of the Taco Salad from the Ionie Retreat Cafe. It showed a colorful food, with a bright yet simple background. This would have made it very simple to add text to the background without having any implication occur. I learned to edit the photos to create a more colorful photo and to enhance the "center" of attention to the item of food.

This magazine markets their product through Twitter, using their own website, and also Facebook. This shows that they want to target older audiences through Facebook, and younger and more "up to date" audiences through Twitter. The persuasive techniques is by saying how their magazine can help save the planet. Their quotes are "Plate up for the Planet. Taste the Future. Go Vegan" and "One world. Many lives. Our choice." The form of media used were social media, print, digital email, and online. I would probably use both social medias to target all audiences.

Revision #2 - Table of Contents

For my table of contents, the problem was similar to the cover page; the text was hard and difficult to read due to background and its different colors. On word, I used the left over background that i decided to crop in the beginning to move the picture over a bit, so I can utilize the plain background. In addition, I also made the image bigger so the food would be the main focus and not be as distracted by the messy and clumped font. As there are some details in the background, I placed my three different subjects to be seen on top of the plain background, so it wouldn't collide with the font. I think it looks much better, clean, and organized. The font is much better and easier to read as the made it bigger and much bolder. As the for content title, I moved it up and made it bigger, this made more room for the three subtitles.
