Creative Critical Reflection #4

I incorporated technology into the process by using a variety of editing apps. To take most of my photos I have been using the Iphone 7's and the Iphone 11's back camera on the photo and portrait mode. The portrait mode was needed to bring the main focus to the dish; by blurring out the background, it caused less distraction and made the food, "the center of attention." To edit my photos I used apps such as; VSCO, PS Express, and PicsArt. The app VSCO was utilized to help add filters to my photos. I edited the photos by changing the exposure, contrast, sharpness, clarity, saturation, and tone. This was crucial to making the food more appealing and was a technique to attract readers to its color. The other two apps, "Photoshop Express and PicsArt" were used so I could adjust the photo, cut out any distractions in the background, and also company names that were presented on any cups, napkins, etc. After final editing I transferred all the photos onto my Macbook. I cropped, edited, and formated the photos onto the magazine to where it would look appealing and match the content in the area the photo was assigned to. For the title page and the table of contents, I used my Mac, which means it does not have publisher, so I looked online for a Mac publisher and came across LucidPress, which was a free alternative publisher for MacBooks.

This magazine is an educational charity that provides information and guidance on various aspects of Veganism, including new vegans, healthcare professionals, educators, and the media. This magazine markets their product through Twitter, using their own website, and also Facebook. This shows that they want to target older audiences through Facebook, and younger and more "up to date" audiences through Twitter. The persuasive techniques is by saying how their magazine can help save the planet. Their quotes are "Plate up for the Planet. Taste the Future. Go Vegan" and "One world. Many lives. Our choice." The form of media used were social media, print, digital email, and online. I would probably use both social medias to target all audiences.

Revision #2 - Table of Contents

For my table of contents, the problem was similar to the cover page; the text was hard and difficult to read due to background and its different colors. On word, I used the left over background that i decided to crop in the beginning to move the picture over a bit, so I can utilize the plain background. In addition, I also made the image bigger so the food would be the main focus and not be as distracted by the messy and clumped font. As there are some details in the background, I placed my three different subjects to be seen on top of the plain background, so it wouldn't collide with the font. I think it looks much better, clean, and organized. The font is much better and easier to read as the made it bigger and much bolder. As the for content title, I moved it up and made it bigger, this made more room for the three subtitles.
