I incorporated technology into the process by using a variety of editing apps. To take most of my photos I have been using the Iphone 7's and the Iphone 11's back camera on the photo and portrait mode. The portrait mode was needed to bring the main focus to the dish; by blurring out the background, it caused less distraction and made the food, "the center of attention." To edit my photos I used apps such as; VSCO, PS Express, and PicsArt. The app VSCO was utilized to help add filters to my photos. I edited the photos by changing the exposure, contrast, sharpness, clarity, saturation, and tone. This was crucial to making the food more appealing and was a technique to attract readers to its color. The other two apps, "Photoshop Express and PicsArt" were used so I could adjust the photo, cut out any distractions in the background, and also company names that were presented on any cups, napkins, etc. After final editing I transferred all the photos onto my Macbo...

My production skills developed from the beginning because I learned how to center a picture, if it was not taken properly. Since my magazine did not involve any models, I learned that proper lighting and background would be essential when taking a photo. For example, my cover page had varying light, which caused a small hassle to put on white text onto a dark and light background. As for my "photoshoot" of Mrs. Singleton, I had to schedule a time after school when she would. be available and due to softball, it was a bit difficult, but she gave 10 minutes of her time to do the photoshoot and so I can interview her. While taking her photo, I made sure the area was bright and it was located in her kitchen, where occupation as a teacher is; which is an Culinary Arts teacher at Sarasota High. I evolved the most when I took the picture of the Taco Salad from the Ionie Retreat Cafe. It showed a colorful food, with a bright yet simple background. This would have made it very simple ...

My magazine will engage with audiences by free 3 monthly magazine subscriptions. This will allow any of readers to see if they enjoy my magazine and if they do, they will continue to pay to see more of the content. Another way is by having.a pop up shop in stores. I can provide samples of some vegan foods and promote my magazine. In this magazine I can send recipes for vegan foods, along with the products to eat. Additionally, with the use of social media such as twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and more, it can help to update my readers and increase engagement. The magazines I researched for vegan magazines all used social media to engage with their audiences. A magazine such as Vegetarian Times, marketed their magazine through apps such as Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, and their own website. This magazine posts that caters to their audiences interests. The use of conventions in my magazine was directed towards the subject of my magazine. My choice of fonts was supposed to be simplistic and earthy. I used colors such as green and blue for my fonts to represent the Earth. My photographs used were all food and drinks that were vegan. My cover page consists of a soup with noodles, vegetables , tomatoes, tofu and pecans. In addition, there were photos of vegan french toast, oatmeal, a vegan taco salad, and vegan drinks such as coffees. These photos were essential to show that being vegan is not just eating salads; it is a variety of converting from eating everyday foods to a healthier and animal friendly version. The photo's were not editing as much because i wanted to portray the colorful foods, in its natural colors. Photos were only cropped to fit the frame.
